Welcome! I am so honored you would join me on this journey. It may not be an easy one to walk, but maybe it will bring comfort.
These paintings have been on my heart and mind for months now. I dreamed and thought about the process and the reason for them long before ever touching the brush to canvas. They have evolved and transformed. Even as I worked through each one, their stories formed in my mind; drawing from my own life over the past years.
One thing I have learned through this series, and though life struggles, is that there is ALWAYS a choice. A choice to walk in joy or let the pain overtake us. A choice to have hope that this life is for something bigger than the moments we are in right now or to succumb to the bitterness of this world.
The second choice is the easier of the two. How simple it would be to let the emotions of the season dictate the way your life will continue. And who could blame you? Haven't we all dealt with those overwhelming and absolutely devastating effects of situations beyond our control?
But the Warrior. Now that is the person to have seen the battle and fought the fight. He knows the depth of sorrow and pain. Yet he endures. Continues to hope. To seek. To believe.
The things that make all warriors strong is knowing they are not alone. They have comrades who stand beside them and fight along with them. I hope these next few moments, as you view these pieces, you see someone who has already been down that path.
I hope that you will be a warrior, my friend.
You are not alone.
